Some people just don’t get it when you ask them about Network Marketing. Without any valid evidence to rest their case upon, they dismiss it as “one of those things.” Surely it’s a scam!!
A scam? Yes, there are plenty of scams out there in the free world, but done properly and with integrity, network marketing is not one of them. Are there companies using the network marketing business model who do not operate with integrity or without the best interest of their customers? Of course, but they exist in traditional business as well. So do your homework, as you would when evaluating any business.
Let’s look at a traditional business model and dissect one big difference between the two models. That difference would be advertising.
Traditionally, if a business has a product or service to get into the marketplace, research would be done to determine exactly what kind of penetration could be made after implementing various advertising methods. The cost of advertising would be a serious redline on the balance sheet until sales were made to get the company in profit. This example is extremely simplified for illustration, but the point is this – no sales typically occur until after advertising is made, and even then, it’s a crap shoot.
Now let’s look at the model used in network marketing. Here, all advertising is done through word-of-month. Then, the “fee” for advertising (which is done through individual distributors), is not paid out UNTIL product or service is sold. This just makes good business sense. Although there are many risks involved in starting any business, the risk of paying for advertising while not knowing (and only guessing) the outcome of the advertising, often an extremely high expense for any business, is virtually eliminated.
Who are you more likely to trust -- Your friend, a billboard or random magazine ad?
Network marketing is not a scam; it is simply a way of rewarding those who take the time to let others know about a needed product or service. Do some real investigating and learn the facts before you dismiss this growing business model.
I am part of an online group that is taking a marketing challenge called 180 days to greatness. We have a coach, Nadira Haniff who assigns daily tasks that need to be completed. Why ALL Home Based Business Owners and Network Marketers Need a Blog
Unless you’ve been living under a ROCK, you undoubtedly know what blogs are and if you don't, a blog is: A website with regular entries of content. That content could be ANYTHING - commentary, rants, raves, descriptions of events, etc. And it can include graphics, video and audio.
Why are blogs so IMPORTANT? They allow people to communicate, to say anything, anytime, anywhere, across the country and across the world. We as human beings LOVE to express ourselves in so many different ways and a blog is yet another way for us to communicate via the internet.
So why are blogs important to your business? Because they allow you to communicate with your audience. You're in business to provide a product or service to your customer, right? People need to know about you and your product. The ongoing RELATIONSHIP with your business partners, your downline, and your customers are essential.
A blog allows the home business owner or network marketer to constantly let their audience know what they’re doing. Here are some of the other things you as a business owner can do with your Blog:
Run a contest
Launch a new product
Run a training course
Take a poll
Have your users subscribe to a newsletter
Sell a product or service
The most popular blogs that folks use are Wordpress and Blogger which is owned by Google. You can either host your own blog, in which case you have to purchase hosting space from a web hosting provider, or you can let Wordpress or Blogger host your blog for you.
To create, manage, and add content to your blog might seem daunting at first, but Wordpress and Blogger are super easy to learn. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be a blogging pro in no time.
One last thing - search engines just love blogs! Why? Because if you provide your blog with content on a frequent basis, and your topics are on focus, Google will eventually pick up your blog content and index it which means it will be searchable on Google.
So, jump in, give it a try, and have fun.
Happy Blogging!

Network Marketing – A Relationship Business
Network marketing is all about building relationships with other people. Just like it is in everyday life, and you have to treat it as such. Network marketing is not about being “that car salesman”. With that type of mentality you will not get far and will probably fail.
Relationships are about being honest and trustworthy. When you put the relationship first, customers and clients will forgive your mistakes and work with you.
Relationships are about giving unconditionally. A prospect that receives personal attention is more likely to do business with you than your competitor. My business inspires hope, dignity & pride within me, and I especially love sharing those dynamics with others, as they see "the light come on" for themselves, as they find the same value and benefit.
As each person in your downline is busy building their business, they are also building yours as well. That's the power of leverage. Good customers often, by word of mouth, promote businesses in ways unimaginable. Viral marketing is one of the most powerful sales tools available. If you make it a point to put integrity first, that will resonate with your customers and they will think of you as a representative of a trustworthy company.
Unfortunately, I think we sometimes get swept away by all that "hype and close" and forget to apply our own personal beliefs to our business. The definition of a relationship is a connection or involvement. These connections cannot and do not happen when your whole goal is to make a sale. “You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get others interested in you.” Dale Carnegie
Relationships do not happen solely through good intentions. They start with the act to connect. And it starts with a single encounter – your next one.
I am taking part in a marketing experiment that started with 25 ordinary people working towards one common goal. The friendships that we have made will live beyond this program as we got to know each other along the way. Come join us and watch our journey at www.180daystogreatness.com

SHOW ME THE MONEY! - Networking a brilliant solution
I was talking to a friend the other day about this BIG, new promotion she had received at work. She was telling me about her new office, her assistant, her new title, and all the new things that were being placed at her disposal, but never once did she say anything about the MONEY. So I asked her, “So, Terri exactly how much money are they paying you to take on this responsibility”? With a startled look, she told me that it would only amount to a couple thousand dollars a year. I absolutely LOST it!! “You have got to be kidding”, I said. “You are selling out for a few hundred dollars a month!” I couldn’t believe that my best friend, the person who had told me no so many times when I asked her to come into business with me, was settling for so little. I couldn’t contain myself.
As we finished our meal, I reached into my bag and pulled out a small booklet. “Terri” I said. “We have been over this many times, and every time you have told me no. If you aren’t interested this time, we will leave it at that. But I care about you too much to let you continue going down this path”.
She sat there silently as I explained about my home based business. I told her about the new product launch of the cleanest greenest skin nutrition on the planet. I told her of how in the previous 5 years our company had done a Billion dollars in sales with only ONE product. Then I showed her, how by working smart once, we are able to generate thousands of dollars in additional income weekly and monthly; not yearly as she does.
“You see Terri”, I said. “By helping someone else achieve their financial goals, you can achieve your own. It’s really quite simple. Let’s say you find 5 business partners. You will receive a check from the company for $300 each; that’s $1,500. Now here’s the really cool part. When they get their 5 business partners, you get another $150 each. So let’s see, that’s 5 who get 5.” Terri nodded. She finally got it! And it’s called leveraging in business. Corporations leverage employees to bring in bigger profits, the unfortunate part is employees, get stuck on fixed income, while cost of living rises and job security is on shaky ground. Who’s in trouble? It’s always the employee!
As we completed her application Terri said, “You know, I would have joined you years ago if you would have just SHOWN ME THE MONEY!”

180 Days to Greatness – A Marketing Experiment – My Personal Journey October 5, 2008
Hi everyone, this is Suzanne Lavigne. Well, week one is over and what a week it has been. There is no such thing as a learning curve with this marketing experiment. It is a vertical climb straight up and there is no room to fail and fall or you will get left behind.
Nadira Haniff, our coach, states that this is a boot camp of sorts and we will see who will make and who will break. The winners may be battered and bruised by the time we cross the line at the end of the 180 days but we will have succeeded in business and stretched ourselves to go way beyond our limits. She is pushing us to see exactly what we are capable of doing and not all of us will be there in the end. She first stated when we applied that this was not for the faint of heart but for the thick skinned and we will find out just how thick our skin will have to be or how thick a skin we would have to grow!
Join us on our social site to see how many of us will make it to the end. You can make comments, add to discussion, cheer us on and follow us on our journey to the finish line. Learn from our business experiences. Subscribe to our FREE EZINE and get tactics and secrets in business. Priceless, industry guarded information! Follow the link www.180daystogreatness.com
Will all the sleepless nights, running around, cramming and panicking be worth it in the end? I think it will, so does my family and so does this team. We all must remember to keep our eye on the prize and do not deviate from the path. Together we will achieve greatness. Of this I am confident. For the first time in my business, I feel that the path is clear, that my thought process is congruent with my goals and I know this program will build character and stamina that will allow me to go on to even greater heights. I’ll see you here www.180daystogreatnesss.com
I will see you all at the top, the very top, the tip top!!
